Listings in Allard Edmonton

Allard is located in southwest Edmonton, and is part of the Heritage Valley area. Allard is bounded by 127 Street James Mowatt Trail on the west, by 30 Avenue to the North, by Blackmud Creek on the east, and by 41 Avenue on the south. The south boundary is also the City boundary Council approved a Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan for Allard in 2007. The project started in 2009 and is currently ongoing. The Allard neighborhood will contain a combination of low and medium density homes when it is finished. Access to green open space is provided through centrally situated stormwater control ponds, parks, and the Blackmud Creek. The south-central section will include a modest commercial district, and the region's closeness to Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail South provides access to the remainder of the city's facilities. Dr. Charles Alexander Allard is the namesake of the Allard neighborhood. Dr. Allard was a well-known Edmonton physician, broadcaster, entrepreneur, pioneer, industrialist, visionary, and philanthropist. In 1991, Dr. Allard passed away. He was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame after his death, and the CAB Broadcast Hall of Fame in 1996 in appreciation of his contributions to Canadian broadcasting. The street names, like those of the other Heritage Valley neighborhoods, begin with the letter "A." For example, street names include Atkinson, Abbott, and Adamson, all of whom are well-known Edmonton residents.
