Listings in Blackmud Creek Edmonton

The Blackmud Creek region was used for agriculture prior to urban expansion in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The goal of the Blackmud Creek concept was to take advantage of the area's existing natural characteristics while also creating a desirable and affordable residential neighborhood. The Virginia Park Woodland, located in the northeastern part of the neighborhood, is a natural area with a variety of tree types that offers habitat for local flora and wildlife. Blackmud Creek is mostly a low-density residential neighborhood, with higher-density housing and commercial land uses near 111th Street and Ellerslie Road SW on the outskirts. Between the business sector and apartments in the northwest and the low density single-detached homes in the core of Blackmud Creek are medium density row dwellings. Loops and cul-de-sacs are used on interior roadways to create tiny residential enclaves within the neighborhood and prevent through-traffic. This neighbourhood is named after Blackmud Creek, which borders the community along the south and east.
