Listings in Donsdale Edmonton

Donsdale is a tiny residential subdivision in West Jasper Place South, located along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River Valley. It is bordered on the north by 53rd Avenue, the west by Lessard Road, the south by the Wedgewood Ravine tributary, and the east by the river valley and majority of the construction occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s, however pre-existing rural residential construction may be seen along the river valley's border and some progress is still being made. Single-family homes are the most common kind of housing in the area, though there is some medium density housing in the form of low rise apartments along Lessard Road, and more multi-family housing is planned. The river valley and ravine systems that encircle the neighborhood provide important animal habitat as it was designed to create a desirable residential environment while preserving and integrating development with the area's existing natural assets, such as considerable vistas. Residents may enjoy an appealing viewing point as well as access to the local ravine system thanks to a small neighborhood park that overlooks the Wedgewood Ravine. Frank Doncaster, who owned a huge piece of property in the region in the mid-1940s, was honored with the name Donsdale and the name was retained after annexation to the City of Edmonton.
