The Eaux Claires neighborhood is bordered on the north by 167th Avenue, the west by 97th Street, the south by 153rd Avenue, and the east by 82nd Street. Council authorized the Eaux Claires design in 1983, but the majority of the neighborhood was built in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Some of the neighborhood is still under construction. A power substation is erected at 162 Avenue and 97th Street to serve the city's booming north section. Eaux Claires has a mix of single and semi-detached residences as well as walkup flats. To give residents with accessible access via Eaux Claires, a variety of pedestrian routes and interconnections were installed across the neighborhood. There is also a central park/school site, as well as numerous minor parks and stormwater control ponds strategically placed around the neighborhood. Residents living along 97th Street have access to commercial services. Eaux Claires, a neighborhood in the Lake District, gets its name from a body of water, and the term means "clear waters" in French.
