Hairsine is encompassed by 137th Avenue, 144th Avenue, 36th Street, and Victoria Trail and is a completely built neighborhood. The city of Edmonton acquired the land in 1961, and the hamlet was included in the Clareview Outline Plan in 1972. Hairsine development began in the 1970s and continued into the 1980s.
