Listings in Henderson Estate Edmonton

Henderson Estates was mostly used for agricultural purposes prior to urban expansion. The majority of the neighborhood's development took place in the 1980s and 1990s. The neighborhood's residential construction is mostly made up of single-family homes, with a few semi-detached and row housing buildings thrown in for good measure. Henderson Park serves as both a school and a park in the heart of the neighborhood, as well as a community league facility. Henderson Estates is named after Thomas Henderson, a late-nineteenth-century homesteader in the Riverbend region. After living in Ontario and British Columbia, Henderson and his family relocated to Edmonton in 1880. Before arriving at Rabbit Hill, the family cultivated many homesteads. Henderson also brought Italian honey bees to his farm, which is said to be Edmonton's first honeybee colony. Henderson Estates was named after Henderson since his farm was close by.
