The Lake District neighborhood of Klarvatten is located in north Edmonton. The Anthony Henday ring road runs through the neighborhood, with 82nd Street to the east, 167th Avenue to the south, and 91st Street to the west. The ground on which Klarvatten was built was formerly utilized for agricultural operations. In the late 1970s, City Council authorized the neighborhood structure plan (NSP) for Klarvatten. The neighborhood saw residential building for the first time in the late 1980s, although the most of it happened in the 2000s. The single-detached house is the most frequent residential building in the neighborhood, with semi-detached homes and row houses accounting for the remaining residential dwelling units, along with some low-rise flats in the northern portion of the neighborhood. A big stormwater lake and wetland in the east-central area of Klarvatten is one of the neighborhood's most prominent characteristics. There are various parks in the area, several of which are connected by pedestrian paths. Along Klarvatten's western boundary, a school site is placed in the heart of the neighborhood. At the junction of 91st Street and 167th Avenue, a neighborhood-level business space is available, and substantial commercial services are available to residents along 167th Avenue, just west of Klarvatten. Klarvatten, like all of the Lake District's neighborhoods, is named from the Swedish word meaning "clear water."
