Listings in Mcleod Edmonton

McLeod was almost completely built-out by 1980, despite the fact that residential building began in the 1950s. The majority of the area is residential, with practically all of the houses being single-detached. The majority of these homes were constructed in the 1960s, with higher-density infill construction beginning in the 1970s. McLeod's layout is typical of the time period in which it was developed, featuring crescents and cul-de-sacs. McLeod has four school-park locations, all of which are located around the neighborhood's southeast edge. Murdoch McLeod (1844-1930), an early pioneer who arrived in Canada from Scotland in 1861 and joined up with the Hudson Bay Company, was named for him. Before relocating to Edmonton in 1879 and farming in the Belmont area, McLeod spent six years in the Arctic and six years in Manitoba, where he was imprisoned during the Riel Rebellion.
