Listings in Tamarack Edmonton

Tamarack is a neighborhood in Southeast Edmonton that is part of the Meadows region. Tamarack is bordered on the north by Whitemud Drive, on the east by the Canadian National rail line, on the south by 23 Avenue, and on the west by 17 Street. Mill Creek flows through the southern part of the community. The Tamarack Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan was approved by council in February 2006. The neighborhood's development began in the north and has since moved south. The construction is still going on. The Tamarack neighborhood will contain a combination of low, medium, and high density housing units when it is finished. In the northwest, a transit center and business site are planned, while in the southwest, another commercial site is proposed. These two zones are often near to medium and high density dwellings. The neighbourhood will also have two park areas and two stormwater management ponds, as well as the Fulton Marsh Natural Area, which is just outside the neighborhood to the northeast. The Meadows' neighborhoods are named after trees or plants. Tamarack is a larch species endemic to Canada. In the spring and fall, the larch is very lovely. The needles are a delicate light green in the spring, and the foliage is a clear golden yellow in the fall, shortly before leaf drop.
